Carol Lovegrove Orienteering Coaching

Orienteering is a challenging outdoor sport for all ages. It develops skills across the educational curriculum including maths, geography and PE. Pupils develop self confidence, resilience and spacial awareness while exercising in the fresh air.

I have been orienteering since the age of 8, having represented England and Great Britain as a junior. Now a veteran, I continue to compete regularly at events around the country, with occasional podium positions. I love the sport and my aim is to give other people the opportunity to experience the enjoyment that I have had over the years.

I have been coaching orienteering for twenty years, with experience of a broad range of abilities, from primary school pupils, secondary schools, university students, uniformed organisations, club-level juniors and seniors and the South East regional junior squad.

I am a British Orienteering licensed club coach. I have an enhanced DBS certificate and a current first aid certificate. I hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Training.

I am available for teaching groups of any standard, from beginner upwards. I am able to produce specialised orienteering maps of school grounds, for use by schools for their own activities. I can also produce permanent and semi-permanent courses in school grounds. Activities range from one-off introductory sessions to a series of classes developing orienteering skills to a greater depth.

If you feel your school or organisation would benefit from offering orienteering  or are interested in further information, please feel free to contact me.
